A file containing 11 exchanges of typed and hand written correspondence plus notes and corrections between Allen, Swanton, R.B.Bloomfield of Hutchinson (publisher) and Allen's sister Lady Pat Dickson from February 1983 to July 1984 in preparing the manuscript of the biography that was published in April 1985.

Also included is a text copy - with corrections - of the Foreword by Lord Home of the Hirsel (Sir Alec Douglas-Home) who was a contemporary at Eton College.

Images display Allen and Swanton at Lord's in 1984 and an initial letter from Swanton to Allen setting out the plans to produce the book.
